What will I learn?
In Texas, a Limited Lines Property and Casualty license is required for a person acting as an agent writing job protection insurance,
insurance on growing crops (exclusively), authorized insurance for a farm mutual insurance company, motor vehicle (exclusively), manufactured
home property insurance (exclusively), prepaid legal service contracts, industrial fire insurance (exclusively), or credit insurance.
To become licensed as a TX Limited Lines property and casualty agent, you will need to demonstrate entry-level knowledge of the industry by passing
a state licensing exam. This course will deliver the content needed to successfully complete the education and examination requirements. This course
includes Texas-specific general insurance law, licensing requirements, prohibited marketing practices, and agent duties and responsibilities.
Testable topics include:
General insurance industry terms and concepts (including risk, peril, hazard, loss, deductible, and
limit of liability), policy provisions, insuring agreement, conditions, exclusions, definition of insured, duties of the insured after a loss, proof
of loss, and appraisal.
